LaBella Associates has added a new area of expertise to the firm鈥檚 diverse portfolio: waste and recycling management. LaBella鈥檚 acquisition of industry leader Joyce Engineering, became effective November 1st.
Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Joyce Engineering has additional offices in Charlotte, North Carolina, Greensboro, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina. Since its founding in 1983, Joyce has specialized exclusively in responsibly serving the solid waste industry for both public and private clients. Services include engineering, environmental consulting, planning, permitting, and operational consulting and training.
鈥淛oining LaBella was as much about finding a cultural synergy as a business synergy,鈥 said Leonard 鈥淏utch鈥 Joyce, President of Joyce Engineering. 鈥淲e found plenty of alignment in engineering and environmental services, but more importantly, a shared philosophy of building client relationships.鈥 Environmental Financial Consulting Group (efcg.com) assisted Joyce in completing the ownership change. All Joyce Engineering employees will be retained in the acquisition, with Butch Joyce continuing to lead the firm鈥檚 waste and recycling service area.
Together, LaBella and Joyce will be able to serve a larger geography of clients, as well as offer additional services to Joyce clients from the LaBella brand, such as architecture and engineering for facilities and buildings. LaBella鈥檚 extensive experience with solar farms may also be attractive to landfill owners initiating energy projects. 鈥淪olid waste to energy is a growing area of the industry,鈥 Joyce said. 鈥淟aBella also brings experienced energy engineers to the table.鈥
鈥淎dding waste and recycling services to our firm is a natural extension of LaBella鈥檚 commitment to helping communities solve complex problems,鈥 LaBella President Robert A. Healy said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to introduce our firm to the communities Joyce serves in the Southeast.鈥
