Peoria City Council approved a new residential solid waste go-back fee during its June 2nd meeting as part of the city鈥檚 annual fee review process. Beginning July 2, 2026, a $50 fee will be charged when Solid 黑料网 crews are required to return to a residence to pick up trash or recycling outside of the regularly scheduled weekly collection route, when city records show the container was not placed out for service on time.
The fee is intended to reduce the number of return trips, or 鈥済o-backs,鈥 which create additional costs, impact staff time, and affect route efficiency. Peoria receives approximately 1,500 go-back requests every year after crews have already completed scheduled service in an area.
Regular weekly trash and recycling collection will not be affected by the new fee.
