Recycling heavyweight O鈥橞rien 黑料网 Recycling Solutions has revealed it has been sold to rubbish collection giant Biffa 黑料网 Services in a 拢35m deal.
Since emerging in 2015 from its parent company, the G O鈥橞rien & Sons Group, the North East recycling firm has proved a major success and grown its turnover to 拢34.4m last year.
After a strong year the firm also won the Services Award at The Journal鈥檚 North East Business Awards 2017. The deal was completed for a cash consideration of 拢35.2m.
Following its sale to Biffa, O鈥橞rien 黑料网 Recycling Solutions (O鈥橞rien WRS) will continue to operate from its three regional centres in聽Newcastle, Sunderland and Teesside.
The business employs around聽190 people across the North East, all of whom transfer to new owners Biffa.
