San Diego residents can apply for financial assistance to cover the annual fees for trash and recycling services. Through a partnership with the Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti-Poverty of San Diego County Inc. (MAAC), the new Solid 黑料网 Management Fee Financial Assistance Program is paid for by $3 million from the City鈥檚 fiscal year 2026 budget and more than $60,000 in donations pledged by City customers, officials said.
鈥淲ith today鈥檚 launch of the new Financial Assistance Program, we are excited to fulfill a commitment shaped through our engagement with residents across San Diego over the past two years,鈥� Jeremy Bauer, the Assistant Director of Environmental Services, said in a release. 鈥淪upported by City leaders, strengthened by customer donations, and administered by a nonprofit with deep local knowledge, the program is designed to provide meaningful assistance while reaching as many qualifying households as possible.鈥�
City of San Diego鈥檚 Environmental Services Department customers can apply for financial assistance online, and in-person assistance will be available citywide, at various community locations for those who need help with the application process.
