Plans are in motion to build a new recycling center in Calhoun County, replacing the current center located on 15 Mile Road in Marshall. The new recycling center will be located near the interchange of I-94 and I-69. The county hopes to open the center within the next two years.

Currently, the county鈥檚 recycling center shares space with the Road Department. Calhoun County Assistant Director of Community Development Lucy Hough says the new location will give the Department of Recycling and Solid 黑料网 more autonomy.

鈥淲e call our recycling center the Marshall Recycling Center, and we鈥檙e open two days a week right now in that location,鈥 said Hough. 鈥淲hat鈥檚 tricky about it is that we are literally on Road Department property. So, our operation really is in the way of how the Road Department operates.鈥
