Gov. Bill Lee has once again designated March as Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month. The spring initiative spotlights KTnB鈥檚 litter programs including the launch of Tennessee鈥檚 Greatest American Cleanup, leading up to America鈥檚 250th. To celebrate the kick-off, KTnB will host a rally and awards luncheon from 11 a.m. 鈥 1:30 p.m. CDT, March 12, at Beale Street Landing in Memphis, Tenn.
The launch of Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month unites volunteers, partners, and communities across the state to make Tennessee cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Tennessee鈥檚 Greatest American Cleanup, in cooperation with Keep America Beautiful鈥檚 nation-wide initiative, encourages volunteer participation through July 4, 2026, when America turns 250. Kanika Greenlee, KAB senior vice president, will bring remarks.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to host a volunteer rally to launch Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month and inspire the citizens of Tennessee to take the Greatest American Cleanup Community Pledge,鈥 Executive Director Missy Marshall, Keep Tennessee Beautiful, said. 鈥淚 want to thank Gov. Lee for continuing to support our organization. This year, especially, we are encouraging all our citizens to celebrate the power of partnership, community pride, and environmental stewardship leading up to America鈥檚 250th.鈥
The March 12 program features the presentation of KTNB鈥檚 special awards, including The Love Where You Live and The Leader Against Litter Awards. In addition, The KTnB Three Grand Divisions Scholarships will be presented to nine outstanding high school seniors from across the state. These scholarships help continue to encourage environmental stewardship with Tennessee鈥檚 youth. To kick-off 2026鈥檚 Greatest American Cleanup庐, KTnB and Memphis City Beautiful will host a community wide cleanup from 9 鈥 11 a.m. CDT, March 13. Volunteers are invited to join the event at Robert Church Park in Memphis.
