Making it easier to recycle and keep North Lake Tahoe clean, Placer County has launched a new community stewardship initiative with a free bulk residential cardboard recycling drop-off location in Kings Beach, available throughout the summer.

The Eastern Placer Responsible Refuse program began July 7 and will operate as a summer pilot designed to provide residents and visitors with a convenient option for recycling large amounts of cardboard. If the pilot proves successful and receives strong community support, the county will evaluate opportunities to continue the program in the future.

“This effort is another step toward making responsible waste disposal more convenient for residents while helping protect the environment that makes North Lake Tahoe such a special place,” said Placer County District 5 Supervisor Cindy Gustafson. “We appreciate the community members who asked for additional recycling options and we encourage everyone to do their part by using the drop-off bin responsibly.”
