quip announces that John Defenbaugh has been named the 2025 Supplier Member of the Year by the National & Recycling Association (NWRA). Defenbaugh assumed the role of Executive Vice President and President of Trucks late last year, expanding his leadership to oversee the company’s truck brands: Amrep, Galbreath and Foster Hydraulics.
“John has earned the trust of this industry by showing up, doing the work, and leading with purpose,” said Marty Bryant, CEO of quip. “Being recognized by NWRA at the same time he steps into broader responsibilities across our truck division speaks to the role he plays not just within quip, but across the industry.”
Each year, one individual is recognized as the NWRA Supplier Member of the Year. This award honors a prominent leader who demonstrates exceptional leadership and service in advancing the waste and recycling industry. Defenbaugh was recognized for his longstanding dedication and service on the NWRA Supplier Board of Governors. He has been a key driver in supporting the succession planning process, onboarding new board members, and developing the strategic direction of Expo and the Summit.
Defenbaugh provides strategic oversight for Amrep, Galbreath and Foster Hydraulics to align leadership with innovative opportunities and operational excellence across the division’s portfolio of brands. By taking on this role, he reinforces quip’s commitment to delivering reliable, customer-focused solutions while supporting long-term growth across the waste, recycling and trucking industries.
Regarding the industry recognition and his expanded leadership responsibilities, John Defenbaugh stated, “This award is truly meaningful, and I appreciate the support of my peers across the industry. I am excited to take on broader responsibility within quip and to work with our teams to deliver solutions that make a difference for our customers.”
