The Recycling Partnershipannounced that Greg Saxon has been named its next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 20, 2026. Saxon succeeds Founder and CEO Keefe Harrison, following a planned leadership transition announced this spring. The appointment comes during a period of evolution for the U.S. residential recycling system, as one in five Americans now live in states with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws for paper and packaging. The transition follows a rigorous national search led by The Partnership’s Board of Directors to identify an executive capable of navigating this complex regulatory shift while scaling investments and infrastructure improvements across the U.S. recycling system.
Greg brings more than 20 years of leadership experience, with a strong systems perspective built from experience across electronics recycling, packaging, procurement, supply chain, operations, and circular materials systems. His background reflects the complexity of the recycling system and the breadth of partners needed to strengthen it.
“The Recycling Partnership has always been about proving what’s possible when you bring the right people to the table,” said Haley Lowry, newly appointed Chair of The Recycling Partnership’s Board of Directors. “As we look at what’s next, Greg Saxon brings extensive leadership and operational experience to drive our mission forward and meet the current moment the recycling system faces. The Board has total confidence that he will accelerate the critical work we’re doing together.”
During the transition, there will be full continuity of The Partnership’s focus on tackling system challenges that no single company, community, or policy can fix alone.
“What drew me to The Recycling Partnership is its unique ability to bring together diverse stakeholders around practical solutions that strengthen recycling and advance a more circular economy,” said Greg Saxon, incoming CEO of The Recycling Partnership. “Throughout my career, I have believed that lasting change happens when organizations align around a shared purpose, and I see The Partnership as one of the nation’s most effective examples of that approach in action. The modern recycling system requires alignment, readiness, and targeted investment, and The Partnership is exceptionally positioned to turn shared purpose into measurable progress. I’m excited to work alongside its talented team, partners, funders, and communities to build on a strong foundation and help create a future where every community can participate in and benefit from a modern, effective recycling system.”
“I am thrilled to welcome Greg Saxon to The Partnership,” said Keefe Harrison, outgoing CEO and Founder of The Recycling Partnership. “He understands the complexity and urgency of this work, and he brings both the practical experience and people-centered leadership needed for this next chapter. I am confident in his leadership and excited for what is ahead for The Partnership.”
